Beaches, sun, sand and wine. There are so many reasons to fall in love with Penticton. It’s affordable and offers tons of activities, it’s no wonder people flock there for a better lifestyle and summer fun. Here is why we love Penticton.
Reason we Love Penticton
The Lakes
Ah, Lake Okanagan and Skaha Lake, famous and known by pretty much everyone in BC. They it all, boating, swimming, relaxing. You really cannot go wrong with a day on the lake. Perfect for families and young adults, Both sides of the city offer many pristine beaches for all.
Wine Tastings
What trip to Penticton isn’t complete without a visit to your favourite wineries. At $5-$10 a tasting, it’s possible to hit almost every one and spend very little. We recommend walking between the wineries, you will hit one every 500 meters or so. If you like a wine, buy a bottle and support this important BC industry, especially during these times.
The Channel
Want to relax and float down a channel? Now is your chance, this is the number one rated attraction in Penticton. Seen all over advertisements in Penticton, it’s run by Coyote River Cruise. You can rent a tube or bring your own. They also offer a shuttle service so no need to worry about getting back!. It is fairly cheap, but it takes a long time, around 5-6 hours during the slow currents. So maybe just try it once and move onto something else Penticton has to offer. But we strongly recommend that you give it a shot.
The Winter
From the ski hills and the snowshoeing, Penticton has it all in the Winter. Apex Mountain is just a short drive away and you can explore many backcountry trails as well!
We could go on for days with this list, but you get the idea. This city has tons to offer and is a short drive from Vancouver. If you have a spare weekend, head on up. And for all you local residents out there, choose Contain Your Stuff Penticton for your storage needs.
